Working in hotels, cafes, bars and restaurants (also known as HORECA in some countries) involves being immersed in a busy and active environment. This means fabric used for hospitality garments must be comfortable but also durable to sustain the activity throughout shift work.

But standing out as a brand in a market that is highly competitive, is not an easy task, and one of the best ways to do it is by having a uniform that represents your company’s values and motto. This has motivated companies to move away from the traditional colours of white, navy, and black, and turn into more ‘timeless’ colours like greys, creams and khakis.

Fabric composition is also a vital element when deciding the right textile for uniforms. For the hospitality sector, for example, polycotton is a popular choice due to offering the durability of polyester and the comfort of cotton.

Carrington Textiles top selling Teredo is a hospitality industry favourite internationally. At a weight of 195 gsm, it has a composition of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. Teredo has the largest range colour and print designs, making it a great solution for trendy or classic uniforms. It also offers Crease Resist finish as a standard, for a garment that will look smarter for longer.

Teredo is suitable for industrial laundering and has high colour fastness, making it a popular option for workwear in sectors that include hospitality, retail and healthcare.
